Throwback: Ruhrvalley Innovation Meetup – Data, swamp or trump card? 06/2024

Anna-Karina

On June 18, 2024, the Ruhrvalley Innovation Meetup took place in the cosy atmosphere of the KoFabrik in Bochum. Together with the Bochum Institute of Technology (BO-I-T), the event was held under the motto “Data, swamp or trump card? Paths into the data economy.” Numerous data experts and users from the regional economy, science and administration accepted the invitation to exchange ideas and learn from each other.

The evening began at 5.30 pm with beer and pizza, which gave participants the opportunity to make initial contacts and cultivate existing networks in a relaxed environment. The relaxed atmosphere helped to ensure that lively discussions quickly developed.

This year’s motto “Networking networks” proved to be extremely apt. The discussions focused on topics such as open source, GDPR-compliant data storage and the wishes of citizens when it comes to handling data. The exchange on how these aspects can be implemented in practice and the challenges that need to be overcome was particularly exciting.

Special thanks go to Bochum Economic Development and BO-I-T for their support, which contributed significantly to the success of the evening. The guests in attendance actively participated in the discussions, contributing to a lively and inspiring exchange.

We look back on a great evening that showed how important and enriching the dialog between different players in the data economy is. We are already looking forward to the next meeting and would like to thank all participants for coming and for their commitment. See you next time!
